Great site for information. It contains the reports of Dr. Jim Milgram (Math expert) and Dr. Sandra Stotsky (English), Professor Emerita, Univ. of Arkansas, author and expert witness on Common Core before the U.S. Congress and numerous state legislatures. They both served on the Common Core certification board. Both refused to sign off on it.

Reading is one of the first school districts statewide to redesign its math curriculum in an attempt to align with the Common Core State Standards Initiative, preparation for national English and math tests for public school students. The district has adopted a new sequence that leaves more than 80 percent of eighth-graders without a direct path to a high school calculus course. Only 18 percent will be enrolled in algebra 1, compared with 60 percent to 65 percent in previous years. Concerned parents on Aug. 26Some parents have said they plan to attend a joint meeting of the School Committee and the Board of Selectmen on Aug. 26 in hopes of convincing them to reconsider changes to the math course options.
